He was born April 14, 1930 in Denver, Colorado, graduating from the University of Denver with degrees in Photography and Education, then into the Marine Corps, where he served as an artillery officer in Korea. Locating on the Monterey Peninsula in 1955, he began a 40-year career in commercial photography.
