Canon EOS 7D Mark II For Birds in Flight Photography
- https://www.vernonchalmers.photography/2019/03/canon-eos-7d-mark-ii-application-for.html
- With the EOS 7D Mark II it is possible to use Auto-ISO in Manual Mode (as with Av or Tv Mode) - just be aware that with a fast shutter speed of i.e. 1/4000s the ISO could potentially go up to more than ISO 1000. In good light, with a 1/3200s or 1/4000s shutter speed, my Auto-ISO is generally between ISO 500 - 800.

Canon EOS 7D-Good for Birding - BirdForum

- I know there are much better cameras for birds; but this is as far as my budget goes. And not to mention this will be my first camera. 8 fps., 1.6x crop factor, superb shutter speed and all other bunch of stuff are really good for bird photography I think. I will use it with Canon 400mm f:5.6; which (oddly) I don't have much doubts about.

- You just dial-in the shutter speed you want (for hand holding you need 1/800 sec or faster). The 400/5.6 is super sharp wide open so no need to stop down - when you use auto ISO in Tv mode on the 7D the Camera will always return a aperture of f5.6 (very occasionally f6.3) which is ideal for bird photography.
Bird photography with a canon 90D: Canon EOS 7D / 10D

- Basically: The 90D needs a lot of light and a steady hand. Turn off iTR, set tracking to defaults, use Manual with Auto ISO, use cRAW (better bursts speed), use AI Servo (for BIF). For BIF use 9 point, for static birds use single point (centre). You must use a quality lens to resolve the 32.5 megapixels.
