Actually if you some patience, there is nothing wrong with unguiding work, I was unguiding for a year before I decided to buy guiding gear & I will still continue to do some unguiding work it was a great pleasure imaging with a limited setup just to see what potential I could get out of my setup.

- Thanks for the responses. I have been checking out CG-5 mods over at astronomyboy.com. That is the site where I got some ideas for my barn door mount (still waiting on the motor!:mad. They have several sources and read alongs for improving the mount. From what I've read, the CG-5 (and others) are clones of the Vixen Great Polaris mount.

- The Allview mount is an AZ mount which is unsuitable for long exposure astrophotography and its not goto which the OP wants. At that price you would be better off with the Star Adventurer but that also isn't goto.
