- 7 dust spots and one white orb? The central orb is VERY out-of-focus. This could mean it is not near the sensor/filters. Or it could be a fuzzy smudge on the front filter. The first thing to do is to wet clean the sensor. Until you do that, it will remain a mystery. BTW, those dust spots have the typical white diffraction ring around them:

- The white spots are the rain in the sky and the larger grey spots is water on the lens. It has been my experience that dust on the CCD appears as dark spots and are generally pretty obvious. Again; shooting a clear blue sky is the best test. Since your camera does not have a removable lens dust is not a worry.

The dot becomes clearly visible as I zoom into the image. I have attached a photo taken with dark background and marked the white spot.
