- Posted 08 January 2008 - 11:02 PM. Hi 'Fawlcon' ! there is a difference between the Skywatcher Equinox 80 and the Skywatcher gold 'Pro' [Evostar] ED80. The Equinox has a shorter focal length of 500mm with a F/L of 6.25 - the 'Pro' has a focal length of 600mm and is 7.5 - the same as the Orion ED80. They both have the FPL-53 glass.
