- My X100 Set-Up: I usually shoot at an aperture of f8 when doing street work. It gives a decent depth of field and should yield more keepers than if shooting wide open. Shallow depth of field (wide apertures) leaves little room for errors in focusing. I use Auto ISO set to a maximum of 3200, with the shutter speed set to a minimum of 125th sec.

- On using the af lock button to focus, I always glance down at the distance indicator in the viewfinder to ensure that the set focus distance seems about right. After the firmware upgrades I even use the focus ring for slight adjustments in manual focus mode. I rarely check my images on the LCD so the image review is set to off in camera.

- I agree that checking in the Fuji forum is a very good idea. I don't own that camera, but the cameras I do have I like to use in "set and forget" mode. My suggestions... Daylight: ISO automatic, Aperture priority mode with the aperture set at f5.6, or maybe f8. On Auto ISO, you could set the maximum to 3200 if it isn't already set there.
