- George French was an active photographer from getting his first camera in 1903 until just before his death in 1970. The bulk of this collection is from 1918 to the 1950s. Maine State Archives (MSA) holds French's original images, which include glass plates, nitrate film, and acetate film. He also used several types of cameras producing negatives from 8x10 to 3x4 and some smaller.
