- Blackheath is the furthest West/North we visited, and marks the end of the main towns in the Blue Mountains area. The town itself is nice. To me, it's a more authentic focal point of the Blue Mountains than Katoomba. A little higher up the mountain, quieter, more traditional, and more appealing. I actually felt quite at home walking around here.
