- The LX200 is on a Meade super wedge that has been modified to reduce the slop in the RA and Dec adjustments. The scope had a 25" periodic error (PE) that I was able to reduce to +- 2" with PE correction. This is still too much for good images so I use an AO-8 to eliminate the remaining periodic error.

- The LX200 is quite able to handle long exposures without modification. Arguably, the LX200 has the best price/performance ratio of any scope and mount available today. Like many mass produced products, a few adjustments will improve results further.

- Vignetting: The LX200 native F/6,3 large secundairy mirror combined with the large CCD chip could easily result is vignetting. Unnoticed most of my LX200 image have been made with this problem. For my CCD chip the T2 pipe should be equal or less then 70 mm long. Also the 2" pipe shouldn't be too long. With my T2 off axis guider about 60 mm maximum.
