- The NexStar 8SE is a terrible scope / mount for imaging DSO s. It is wonderful for planetary imaging though. For planetary imaging you should get a webcam like the NexImage 5 or ZWO ASI 224MC. With your f/10 scope the NexImage 5 would work all by itself. It is an old camera though and the newer ones have less noise and allow for better pictures.
