- Put the camera on a tripod, turn off autofocus, set lens to 3.6 or however large your aperature can go, set ISO to 100, set lens to infinity, set exposure for 30 seconds, push button and wait. - Using Live View is another way to focus for night sky photography. Place a bright star in the center of the frame, turn on Live View and press the magnify button to zoom in to the star.
