The Mamiya M645 as my First Medium Format Film Camera

- I ended up choosing the Mamiya M645. Not only was 6×4.5cm regarded as the most welcoming format in the world of 120 film, but the Mamiya M645 was cited often as the most welcoming entry-level 6×4.5 camera. And now I’ve been shooting it for over a year. Hunting for the new camera was like being a kid in a candy store, except it was eBay on ...

- The Mamiya 645 addresses both of these problems by being much smaller than an RB67 and, since it’s an SLR, it’s better for close-up and faraway shooting, compared to a rangefinder. - 7. Mamiya 645 Wedding Photography. I bought the camera to use for analogue Mamiya 645 wedding photography. The 80mm f1.9 lens lets me photograph in low light conditions and the 645 film format gives me 15 photos per roll. The modular M645 design means I can also use multiple film backs.

- I took pictures with the C220 in the late 1960s, Zenza Bronica 645 in the 1970s and the Mamiya 7 in the early 2000. Fantastic glass!! Times have changed however. Today I shoot with Sony A7R4 (61 MP) and some legacy lenses, like Mamiya 645 lenses. The adapter I use is the Kipon Baveyes M645-S/E (costs about $750).

- The Mamiya 645 is a good solid choice, but the flash sync is really slow - 1/60 sec on the Pro TL that I used to own. That makes outdoor flash photography a bit challenging. So, if flash matters, you may want to look at the Bronica ETRSi that had leaf shutter lenses that sync at all speeds. Excellent lenses and inexpensive, too.

- 35mm. Aug 15, 2009. #1. I just was offered a Mamiya 645 body, prism finder, 120 back w/ 80mm 2.8 and 210mm lenses for $200.00 US. Condition rough with some light scratching on lenses which may not be too signifigant for my use. I want to get into MF cheaply. Serial number on the body is L77940. I can't figure out which model 645 this is.
