- Hello. I have recently gotten into pole aerial photography and I do have some questions about minimum height necessary to produce images that could be useful for mapping. I currently have two different painter poles, since I'm unable to find any carp poles easily here in California, one is a 6 to 12 foot telescopic and the other is 4 to 8 feet.
