- The lens needs to be complete disassembled down to the lens elements. The elements need to be cleaned. Most coatings do not have a slovent that does not also disolve the glass itself, and to remove old coatings requires repolishing the surface!?! a horribly expensive operation if you do not have the equiptment on line to perform said polishing.

- The coating looks absolutely OK and "original", if you know what I mean. So, I suppose it's quite possible that it was done at the Arsenal factory. I doubt that Arax has a dedicated professional lens coating facility - they would certainly charge more than $30 for recoating in that case. I haven't seen any recoating jobs done by other US-based ...

Can lens coating be repaired? (pic) - Digital Photography …
- https://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/4581500
- Lens coating can not be repaired. It will cost more than the lens is worth to get the damaged element stripped of its current coating, and then get it recoated again. It will be cheaper to buy another lens, or perhaps a donor lens. Just sell it as is, or keep the lens, since it shouldn't effect IQ too much.
