- A line drawn with the line tool is a vector path and NOT pixels in this case. To erase a part you would need to go to Layers>Rasterize>Shape layer for a Shape layer or stroke the Path from the Paths palette for a Path. If you select the Fill Pixels options in the Options Bar the line will be directly editable.
