- As long as you're not adding additional water to the polymer and compromising the paint film, it will be quite strong and flexible. I do agree with you though that the idea of putting a water-based paint onto a water-soluable ink is probably a bad idea, it'll lead to smudging and potentially bad adhesion to the inked areas.
